Weather isn’t the only thing we talked about tho!! Make sure to follow our Bluesky accounts if you don’t already! @zooand.me @akito.zooand.me @brass.zooand.me @ jinlinsang.bsky.social
Weather has been all over the place here as well. Temperatures exceeding 15°C and nice and sunny, and next week it might snow again. And I feel you, Aki, on the lack of AC. I’m boiling in the summer!
For Jin and Americans in general in the current political climate: Get involved in local politics. You can’t do much on a federal level but a political group has more influence on a local level. Mobilize.us can be used to find local events, for example.
“Yay!” at my comments evolved to cheers and applause? What’s next? You’re gonna get a studio audience to applaud as well? A studio audience which a podcast as awesome and popular as Zoo & Me totally has, right?
ZooTT was also my proper introduction into the great parts of the community. I had a nice discussion with a zoo online while I was still a carefully questioning anti, which led me down a research rabbit hole, which landed me at ZooTT, which then completely changed my mind. And now I’m leaving comments on every single episode of a zoo podcast. I have evolved!
Comment question:
What’s your go-to play style? Think RPGs and the like. Do you like to be sneaky, quick, tanky, hard-hitting but slow, melee, ranged etc.?
House insulation is very important these days and can save you money on your AC running cost Jin. But people who deny climate change are idiots, when you can have 2x 1 in 100 year floods and 3x 1 in 20 year floods in a single 12 month period. (That’s a year for those playing along at home) Chances are there is something out of the normal with the weather system. Then the next year it doesn’t rain for 4 months. It’s not all warming that is occurring its the fact extreme events are become way more common that they start to become the norm rather than the exception and it makes life on the land even more unpredictable.
I can’t watch Doctor Who any more since Disney bought the rights from the BBC, the ABC doesn’t get to screen it in Australia anymore and I can’t afford payTV. So I have to miss out.
Jin you as the third host has breathed life back into the pod cast by introducing another view point in discussions so your now definitely part of the show.
What we need is for an alien species to turn up to unite all the worlds governments for a single purpose, (or at least get them all in one place and laser their asses. But if the aliens are friendly we’ll probably just try and kill them anyway, because that’s what humans do.) But getting everyone together may not even be enough, given how something as totally global as climate change is just considered a problem for some other place to deal with or future generations. I mean if we break the planet it effects everyone including non-humans. The world came together to find a covid vaccine so why is working together so hard for other stuff
Alpacas look cuddly, but unless they are hand raised or spend a lot of time around humans they are not overly eager to be touched. In “Peru” where alpacas are from they have some very large spiders such as the Goliath bird-eating spider. Thus alpacas have it built in to them that if something falls on their head or even just touches their head they need to shake it off. The best place to pat an alpaca is their lower to mid neck.
Roger Ramjet was made in the 60s but I did not watch it then, I am not that old, it was on cartoon network in the states in 1996-98 and was last screened in Australia in 2003. Good thing I didn’t make a Popeye reference or I might get carbon dated to before the second world war. 🙂
I swear weather keeps getting hotter and hotter every summer over here. I remember when I first moved to the state I live in we would only have a couple days over 110. Now but a couple weeks over 120. And what’s worse is I have to work in that heat 🙁
Anyways love your podcast and I can’t wait for more content :3
